Don Camillo, Peppone… and Guccini

After the third wins of Fernando Gaviria the new stage is totally plain. The Giro leave the city where the italian flag was born, to go to the villages sung by the italian songwriter Francesco Guccini, through the via Emilia and Statale 9. A green landscape with a nostalgic taste remembering tv star like Don Camillo and Peppone. A place where farmers were mixed with modern factory like Ducati, a plus in the made in Italy. The Giro cross the whole Pianura Padana and in the last kilometers go through the same road of the Spring World Cup, the Milano – Sanremo passing by Liguria.

Finish line is in Tortona, a city that until now saw just one Giro passing through it in 1989. The last kilometers is always straightened with just some roundabouts.

This stage is the last chance to win for sprinters and the young italian Jakub Marecko want to take some glory. True favourites are the usual: Greipel, Gaviria, Ewan.
