Double breakaway for Wilier – Southeast in the 18th stage of Giro d’Italia with finish in Pinerolo.
The ones who attacked from the first kms were Matteo Busato and the young spaniard Julen Amezqueta who is honoring the Corsa Rosa in his first season as a professional.
The veneto rider, often in the breakaways of this Giro, was able to stay in the front till the GPM of Pramartino where he couldn’t follow the wheels of the best riders of today ending with a good 7th place only 1′ away from the winner Matteo Trentin while Amezqueta was able to close in 12th place.
Tomorrow the “carovana” goes in France to Risoul with the 4th uphill finish of this edition.
