Good GC Operation for Bailly-Maitre at EWS Ireland

The Irish round of the EWS is famous for its loud and crazy fans but also infamous for stages filled with traps. François Bailly-Maître managed his day without any crash and mechanicals with wasn’t the case of some of the favorites.

With seven stages in one single day, all gathered on one small hill, the third round of the Enduro World Series is the favorite of the crowd. The atmosphere is like nowhere else and provides teams and riders with some good motivation for a long day on the bike.

Never close to a stage win but always consistent, François Bailly-Maître went through his day without any problems and finished 13th of the day. “I rode well but missed a bit of craziness. All in all I’m pretty happy with my day and especially with my ranking in the general classification. Many top riders had mechanicals and I managed to take advantage of it to score some important points for the overall.”

After the first three rounds of the Enduro World Series, the French pilot is sitting in 6th place of the general classification, an excellent position for a rider who usually struggles in the first part of the season.

The fourth round of the EWS will take place mid-July in La Thuile, Italy; a place he really likes and where he scored his best EWS result (2nd in 2014).
