Il capo squadra si dirige verso lo stage 2 dell’Amgen Tour of California, Peter Sagan ha perso la maglia gialla alla fine della giornata dopo che due ciclisti della fuga iniziale sono riusciti a rimanere concentrati fino alla fine ottenendo così la vittoria nello stage e il comando della gara. Dietro a questi due ciclisti, Peter ha eseguito un gran finale per ottenere la quarta posizione della tappa, lasciando la maglia di leader della GC per quella della classifica a punti.

Race leader going into stage 2 of the Amgen Tour of California, Peter Sagan was to lose his yellow jersey by the end of the day after two riders from the early breakaway managed to stay clear and take the stage honours as well as the overall race lead. Behind these two, Peter put in a strong finish to take fourth on the stage, swapping the GC leader’s jersey for that of the points classification.
