TARRAGONA (SPA): Matteo Trentin is an atypical Italian, coming from, as his name says, Trentino. He is atypical because he has Belgian DNA.
Specialized in classic races, he is running for one of the most important teams in the World, and the strongest considering just the big races of the northern Europe. Today’s stage in Tarragona had a very difficult final part, for which he found the perfect interpretation.
Even if he is not a sprinter, he managed to beat all of them starting from the Spanish Juan Lobato. Our Sacha Modolo, ideally more exposive than Trentin, took just the 6th place.
Thus was it a quiet stage? Not at all. A long breakaway during all the stage, with a final group fall from which Domenico Pozzovivo lost the most with 3 minutes. For him a bad start in Vuelta, because of a virus during the trainings, and a worst continuation.
Tomorrow we are waiting for a nervous stage, very difficult, with the fastest racers in pole position. Purito Rodriguez and Javi Moreno would have been so suited for it, but they are not in the group.
