Fabio Aru can win this Tour de France? At the moment he and his entourage have said that they only think about the stage of tomorrow with no distraction. Humility is preached but the awareness of being close to something big is strong.

Lets analyze from the unknown. One, underestimated to this point, is called Romain Bardet. The French, winner today, is riding very well since the start of the Tour and is supported by a powerful team (AG2R). Apparently fragile, Bardet is actually really strong and he is already on the podium in Paris 2 years ago.

The second is obviously Chris Froome who has experience and 22km of the last stage, the chrono, that is about 1′: 30″ of advantage over the others.

The third is the team, the many falls has stolen strenght to the riders and then there is the verve of manager Alexander Vinokourov who today already gave him as the number one favorite.Vinokourov needs political propaganda in Kazakhstan, but here in France with certain words it is better to be careful.

The last one is the very short ranking, with Uran 4th at only 56 “. Uran never won a grand Tour.

Lets come to the positive aspects: those that can make him win. Aru pedals in fluency, he is slim and he has won at the start of the Tour just like Vincenzo Nibali in 2015. Coincidence? We hope not. This has allowed him to not lose precious seconds. The Giro d’Italia skipped by accident left in him so much desire for redemption and at the moment the Sardinian is the one who possesses a strength who can make the difference uphill with a 2 km dry shot.

The advantage is small, just 6″, but the first place gives a whole new awareness and when you feel the leadership in the air … there could be cracks even in the armor of the invincible one, the tall and blond.

There are also elements that can affect opponents. Bardet is very young and has been under pressure from all over France. We hope for him to know it.

Froome, who has been seen with no energy today, has rarely been seen so difficult, broken down. He certainly has an outstanding team with an awesome Landa.

History still teaches many things, and the white Kenyan has always attacked his Tour wounded from the start and then dropped into the final.

Obviously also Aru must be careful. Last year was melted just outside Paris.

Tomorrow starts again for a new adventure. What are you waiting for?

Thirteenth stage from Saint Girons to Foix. Only 101 km but with three KOM climbs: Col de Latrape (5.6 km to 7.3%), Col d’Agnes (10 km to 8.2%) and Mur de Peguere (9, 3 km to 7.9%), with brow at 27 km from the arrival.
